On a bright and bitterly cold day, my twin sister Olivia, a friend, and I set up our stand at the Birmingham Market. We had been preparing for this sale for almost two months, offering a variety of handmade goods including candles, friendship bracelets, and dog toys.
Since the Christmas season was fast approaching, the candles I prepared were all holiday-themed. With a stock of snowflake, Christmas tree, pillar, and peony shapes, I was ready to cater to any customer's request. My section of the table was stocked to perfection with scents that captured the spirit of the holidays.
Throughout the four freezing hours we spent making sales, many of my family members and friends showed up to support us, which truly helped me turn a profit. At one point, a group of friends joined us, and we all huddled together around a small heater for warmth.
Since the very beginning, my family and friends have consistently shown up for me. They’ve always told me that my dreams are not impossible—they are well within reach, as long as I am willing to work for them. And here I am, doing exactly that: working my dreams!
